- Use the AI first. Most tasks - finding symbols, creating models, checking status - are faster through the AI than clicking through menus.
- Be specific with the AI. “Show me temperature values from the S7 controller on Relay A” works better than “show me data.”
- Use ⌘K search to jump to anything instantly - relays, controllers, models, cameras, dashboards.
- Subscribe only to what you need. Subscribing to too many symbols at once can slow things down.
- Use the search bar to find symbols quickly instead of expanding the entire tree.
- Export your controller configs as backups before making changes.
- Start with the AI. Describe what you want in plain English - it’s the fastest way to create a working model.
- Stop a model before editing its SCXML.
- Use parameters for values you change often - this way you don’t have to edit the model itself.
- Models run locally on the Relay. They keep working even if your internet drops.
- Pin from other pages. The fastest way to build a dashboard is to pin charts and controls directly from controller and model pages.
- Use the measure tool (click-and-drag on charts) to analyze specific time ranges.
- Add threshold lines to charts for important boundaries like max temperature or minimum pressure.
- Add notes to give context - label what each chart is monitoring.
- Check your disk space. Recordings are stored on the Relay - monitor available storage.
- Embed feeds in dashboards to see video alongside PLC data in one view.
- Use separate organizations for different sites or customers.
- Give operators Member access - they can view and interact but can’t change settings or manage users.
